As a crazy PSP fan, I have regarded PSP as a part of my life, while it gives me a fully satisfaction on music, video. But A pity that some person owns a PSP but don’t know how to bring it into full play, so I collect some tips that I think it’s the main steps to go into the music video world of PSP.
1. How to rip DVD and convert video to PSP
2. How to crop, edit, join and trim DVD movie to make it more perfect on PSP
3. How to transfer video to PSP
4. How to watch Youtube video on PSP directly with wifi internet
5. How to download and convert youtube video to PSP for free
6. How to download free limewire music and video to PSP

Part2. How to rip DVD and convert video to PSP
PSP can play only MP4 video, DVD movie is MPEG-2 video and has CSS protected, so you have to rip the DVD movie to MP4, and then transfer it to PSP, If you stick with freeware, you can use DVD Shrink to rip the DVD to computer, ad then use PSP Video 9 to convert the ripped file to MP4 video. As for me, I’d prefer using Aimersoft PSP Converter Suite, it can rip protected DVD movie and convert video to MP4 video, more over, you can also trim or crop the DVD movie to enjoy the video on PSP with full screen, that’s really cool. What you have to do just put your DVDs on your DVD drive, and then click start button to begin the conversion, and then transfer the video to your PSP with its embedded PSP video manager, done, it couldn’t be easier. If you want to learn more about it, you can refer to its official site
http://www.aimersoft.com/psp-converter-suite.html
If you are a mac user, you can use aimersoft dvd ripper for mac:
http://www.aimersoft.com/dvd-ripper-for-mac.html

Part2. How to crop, edit, join and trim DVD movie to make it more perfect on PSP
This software provides basic DVD edit functions such as trim DVD, crop DVD and combine DVD chapters.
If you want to convert DVD without the black edges of the DVD movie, you can click the “Crop” button, and then you will see a pop up windows (See the figure below). There is a frame in dashed line around the movie video; you can drag it to cut the black edges.
Moreover, you can click the Crop drop-down list to select a Crop model you prefer, for example: “Cut off top and bottom black edges”. You can even type the number in the box to cut off black border accurately.
If you want to combine several DVD chapters into one file, on the main interface, there is a check box “Merge into one file”, select it, then you will only get one output file instead of several files by chapters.
If you want to snatch pictures from DVD, while you previewing the DVD movie, there will be a small camera icon below the preview window, click it when you want to snatch the picture, it supports output picture as JPEG or BMP format.
You can click the “Effect” button and customize the brightness, saturation, contrast, volume, etc (See the figure below). You can even apply special effects such as “Emboss”, “Negative”, “Old film” and “Gray” by selecting an effect from drop-down list.
If you just want to convert several DVD chapters, you can just select the chapters you want to convert (you can preview the DVD clip before converting it). Or you can click “Trim” button to open the trim panel, drag the trim bar to set start time and end time to convert a clip from your movie. You can also type the exact time values in the Set Start Time field and Set End Time field to trim video.

Part3. How to transfer video to PSP
If have converted dvd video to PSP, but don't know how to transfer the file to PSP, You can download this free PSP video manager, it’s totally free, it can help you transfer MP4 video to PSP directly; fully support all firmware versions of PSP. Here is the
download link
what you have to do just add your MP4 video files to the software, connect your PSP to computer via the USB model, and then click Move, done.
If you want to copy MP4 Video to PSP manually, follow these steps:
If your PSP firmware version is below V3.0:
1) Create a folder named "MP_ROOT" in PSP memory stick
2) Inside that folder create a "100MNV01" folder
3) Rename it with this format "M4VXXXXX.MP4", rename the thumbnail with this format "M4VXXXXX.HTM", XXXXX are five random numbers as you like.
4) Save it in the "100MNV01" folder
If your PSP firmware version is above V3.0
1) Create a folder named "MP_ROOT" in PSP memory stick
2) Inside that folder create a "Video" folder
3) Then copy your MP4 file to this folder, done

Part4. How to watch YouTube video on PSP directly with wifi internet?
Because the PSP's web browser only supports an older version of flash, YouTube uses flash 9. If you want to watch YouTube on PSP directly with the wifi, you must upgrade the newest firmware for your PSP and install a flash player on your PSP.  A Japanese developer NekoMiMi has achieved just that with PSPTube. Here are the steps:
1. Download the PSPTube and open the zip file from here http://www.PSP-hacks.com/file/1225
2. Now before putting it in your PSP open the PSPTube.cfg file and press ctrl + F, and type in "DEV" press until you find Dev id="".
3. Ok now go to http://www.youtube.com/dev create an account and insert the account in between the parentheses.
4. Extract the PSPTube from the 200over folder and put it in GAME352 folder (Set the Kernel to the 352) Now open it in the PSP and Choose an internet connection with the Circle button, it may say no videos, press circle and you'll be able to search.
Here is the control info:
X: Cancel; O: Accept; L/R: Last/Next Page; Start: Pause;
Select: Change aspect ratio (Original Size, Full screen)

Part5. Download free YouTube video to PSP?
YouTube is a place everybody knows for free videos, I often download free videos from it, but the downloaded YouTube video is flv format, so a flv converter is necessary, you can go to this website: http://vixy.net/ .It's a free online FLV converter. Then go to YouTube and find a video that you loved. Copy the URL that in the Red box. Like this format:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdUUx5FdySs

Then Paste your video URL to the input box (figure above), choose the right format you want. If you want to edit the video, AVI is a good choice. And MP4 is fit for iPod, PSP and other MP4 players, click “start” to start the conversion. When the conversion finished, you will get the download link of the output video. Click the download link to download the video and save it in your computer, then copy the MP4 video to the “Video” folder in the PSP memory stick.

Part6. How to download free limewire music and video to PSP
If you like to download free music and video to PSP, limewire is surely your right hand; you can download limewire software free from its official site: http://www.limewire.com, install and run it, then type key words to search the music and video you’re interest in, and then download it.

When you finished download the video, export and located it on your computer. Coz PSP can play only MP4 video, so you have to convert your video, I’d prefer using Aimersoft PSP Video Converter to convert video, it embeds an PSP video manager that help you transfer video to PSP directly, so you will not be confused by the complicated PSP rule. If you don’t know how to use it, here is a step by step guide about how to use it.
http://www.aimersoft.com/tutorial/PSP-video-converter.html
If you want to convert video on mac, you can take a look at this mac video converter:
http://www.aimersoft.com/mac-video-converter.html

Note: You must aware that downloading video music from limewire is illegal

Could someone give me a few free links, I think there are also some freewares can do these jobs, right?

BTW, I found the NDS DPG Converter on the aimersoft official site, it can convert videos to DPG format to play on my Nintendo DS, helpful.

Interesting.  But how do you actually get the videos loaded on your DS?  Legally?

As I know, Aimersoft released its most powerful video conversion & dvd ripping software (Aimersoft Video Converter Pro) that can both rip dvd and convert video files.

I always encounters this kind of problems that the webpage host has mentioned about the depletion of High Definition video when I convert it to our portable equipment such as : PSP, iPODZune, iPhone, Apple TV, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360, Archos. After reading your beneficial article, I have tried Aimersoft HD Video Converter with sceptical attitude. But it is amazing that Aimersoft HD Video Converter is the best HD Converter that converts avchd, m2ts, and H.264 videos with super fast speed and less loss of High Difinition after conversion. Sincerely thanks for our webpage host sharing his or her precious service experience with us.

Hi,

Thank you so much for sharing. I have a psp, I won it from the office. Haven't used it really because don't know much about it until now. I know that it can play movie but I don't know how also. I put songs into it but I seldom use it because I have my ipod. Now, I can use my psp for movies because iPod is too small for that.
