Let’s face the facts: there really hasn’t been a really good (let alone a great) movie based on a video game in, well, ever. That hasn’t deterred Hollywood from releasing films in the oft-maligned Games-to-Film genre, with Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and soon to be Prince of Persia, God of War and Bioshock all put up on the big screen. However, there is some hope for the genre yet, should film studios take notice and release a film based on a game with decent screen chops. Here are some games that I think would transfer over well to celluloid:

1. Final Fight
2. Kingdom Hearts
3. Mega Man
4. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
5. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell
6. Mass Effect
7. Ninja Gaiden
8. Grand Theft Auto IV
9. Half-Life
10. Assassin’s Creed

What games do you think should be made into movies?

I thought about this one,  and I think location rise and the scope alone I  could  see Syberia made into a flick..

I really think Hollywood should try making a film using an adventure game instead of you FPS's action game.  Try appealing to the Female audience for a change.   

The next question I have is What video game out there has been made into a movie that is good.  My vote is Res.Evil.   

I'm a huge Resident Evil fan but I have never seen any of the movies.  They look cool but I just never sat down and watched one.  Maybe one day.

Yeah - I too was surprised that Metal Gear Solid didn't make the list.....

Yeah why is Final Fight at the top of the list?  Jean Claude Van Damme as Cody?

But didn't we see those guys in green overalls during suplexes and piledrivers already?  Wasn't that called the WWF in the 90's?
